Shelby's Bio

I grew up in the small village of Stirling Alberta where I had the opportunity to work with children from a young age. I taught swimming lessons which lead me to meeting the Litke family where my passion and career in applied behavior analysis and working with children with disabilities took off.

I attended the Lethbridge college for special needs education while working with Lori as her pilot project of Bridges was becoming a reality. My family and having my son took me to the Pincher Creek area. We just recently added a new baby girl to our family in the summer of 2016. It is a unique area where Bridges can work with schools, reserves and many other programs that support families.

Besides being at Bridges I am a certified water safety instructor trainer where I teach people how to teach swim lesson. I enjoy swimming and playing sports and getting outside with my family. I hope to further my education and one day get my BCBA. Bridges in Pincher Creek is new and growing and I love that every day we get new opportunities for working with families and within the community. I currently run our social skills group as well as all home and community programs.  I enjoy getting creative and finding ways to teach hard topics in a fun way. I hope to further my education and one day get my BCBA. Besides being at Bridges I am a certified water safety instructor trainer where I teach people how to teach swim lesson. I enjoy swimming and playing sports and getting outside with my family.

Jean's Bio

I am a foster/adoptive mom to 5 kids, all who have special needs.  Being their mom has taught me so much about patience, perseverance, resilience and the force of love and stability.

Joining the team at Bridges changed my life, and I thank my lucky stars for this career daily. I have my Bachelor of Commerce Degree with a Minor in Sociology, from The University of Calgary. In my previous life, I was a Financial Planner. My husband Gary, our kids and I live on a small acreage west of Pincher Creek. Two years ago, the opportunity to join the team at Bridges fell in my lap, and I am so thrilled I took this leap of faith. Working with these wonderful kids is fulfilling and so much fun!
